Is sail cloth an even weave fabric?

For the record I hate stitching on it.

Edit: I also thought it worth mention that it is a pre-printed kit.

http://v1.travelements.com/graphics/shop_photo/shopphoto303.gif This is a sailor's palm. It's a uber thimble, it's what they use to get through the cloth. Basically, the hard part of the thimble is on the meaty part of your palm.

Also something else that might help if you can find them, sail needles are triangle shaped instead of round. It's that shape again, because of the weight of the cloth.

I think I could have used that with this. I started using my nylon nose pliers for beading to pull the needle through the fabric and through when tucking my tails. I am hoping that the framing will be much more pleasant.
