Finishes and Yes! There’s an app for that!

I have recently revolutionized my cross stitching! Several months ago I had been telling my brother that I wished there was “electronic” paper, a way I could scroll around my patterns rather than working with all those printed pages. I didn’t think anything existed for a tablet that would do what I wanted. I recently acquired a iPad and that got me searching for what was available for cross stitching.

I found a app Crossty which can not only read my Pattern Maker for Cross Stitch files, it allows you to mark off the stitches as you do them, you can highlight the stitches by colour so you won’t miss anything and tracks the time on which you work on it. It is exactly what I always wanted but didn’t think I’d ever find!!

I’ve finished three patterns since I last posted.

I finished Dollie using Crossty, my current pattern is the first I’ve worked entirely without a paper pattern

Great pictures! The baby is especially adorable. I'm glad you found an electronic solution for tracking your stitches. I hope you are also keeping either a paper copy or a backup copy elsewhere in case your iPad crashes. I am strictly a paper copy person, but I know people who have lost their project due to a crash.

The only thing I could possibly loose is the marked off stitches, I have the files backed up in various places ^_^

Wow, those are some amazing finishes. They're such big projects, and you've done a wonderful job.

Thank you! They’re actually smaller than the photos make them appear. Since switching to only stitching on 25ct fabric I’ve been able to get the detail I want in a much smaller piece ^_^

They have all turned out really lovely! I'm sure Bessie will be just as cute. :)

I work best with paper, but it's always good to know there are other alternatives.

Thanks! Bessie’s been enjoyable to work on just for the varieties of blues I’ve been able to work with. ^_^

Great finishes. Pity that Crossty doesn't support PDFs. Most of my patterns are now PDF, not the formats that it does support.

were any of those patterns made by me? Chances are I’d still have the original file format if you wanted it. It’s been so long I can’t remember who all I made patterns for :P

No. I haven't got any patterns based on photos. Thanks for the thought.
