So I went on a cruise about a month back. My first cruise ever. Seattle WA, Astoria OR, San Francisco CA and Victoria BC. And if that wasn't cool enough, this cruise was a cross stitch cruise. Yeah that's right. A bunch of cross stitch geeks doing excursions to cross stitch themed museums and stitchery shops and taking cross stitch classes on the "sea" days.

The class I took was for a white work sampler.

Of course it took me forever to get a chance to sit down and work on this piece because I first had to finish the one I had started before leaving for the cruise. You know... I have... rules.

Yay! Now to start on my christmas ornaments. Or, you know... finish that poor fanfic I've left hanging with one chapter to go.

Whatever. *grins*

Both are lovely. Does the second one need backstitching? Thanks.

There's a little bit of back stitching around the hands and faces and then the eyes/mouth/etc. But not much given the size of the piece. It's a Marilyn Leavitt-Imblum design (Lavender & Lace, Told in a Garden) and I've found she doesn't usually use a lot of back stitching...

Cool. I find back stitching tedious, but it can make certain areas pop. It's a very pretty design done well.

I loved it! And would do it every year if I didn't, you know, have to work for a living. Hahahah! But come retirement, they'd better watch out! :)

Here's the link to the one they're organizing for next year. I'd give anything to be able to go but it doesn't look like it will be in the cards for me. Bummer.

But there's no reason other can't enjoy! :)
