Downside of stitching this August - my old enemy, carpal tunnel, returned. I went back to wearing my wrist brace for a week and didn't stitch at all for 3 days. Man, I hadn't realized how accustomed I'd become to stitching every day. It was hard not to pick up that needle! However, resting worked and I was soon happily back to stitching.
I also missed 2 days of stitching at the end of the month for a much nicer reason. Meg & I took a two-day road trip to Ohio. Very early Friday morning we headed out for Cincinnati and arrived about 7 hours later. That night we attended the NeedToBreathe concert, which was well worth the trip. Those guys are terrific and we’ve been fans for several years. We’ve seen them here twice, but on this tour Cincinnati was as close as they came to Buffalo.
On Saturday we drove up to Columbus and had a lovely visit with a friend from ALEP (our Kentucky LOTR adventures) and his wife. Their place is Geek Heaven and they are delightful people. If you have seen pictures of the living room wall on which the map of Middle Earth is painted (it’s gone viral around the geekdom internet), that is Lee’s work. Coincidentally, the woman who is about to become the new pastor of our Parish was being ordained in Columbus on Saturday, so we attended that before finally heading home to Buffalo. Being gone from 5am Friday to 10pm Saturday meant no stitching.
But even with all that I have finished Leia’s face and the area around it so I am still on track. Hope you like it!
